Before participating in communion at Christ Church, one of our Faith Steps is for 5th-8th grade students to complete a Communion Class. This one-day experience is a hands-on opportunity to grow deeper in faith and understanding and teaches about the sacrament of communion at Christ Church. Students will also personalize an etched communion glass and a banner for use during their 1st Communion.

1st Communion is celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the class at the worship hour of your choice.

Please register here by the Sunday prior to the class you'll attend. Classes are typically offered in October, January, and April each year.

A letter containing class details will be emailed to registered participants the week before the class begins. Please direct earlier questions to elementary@christchurchmequon.org. Parents are asked to attend towards the end of the class for a special presentation time.

Sample Class Schedule:

• 9:00am - Class lessons and activities using "Fed & Forgiven" workbook.
• 10:15am - Create a personalized communion cup and a wooden banner representing each student as a member of the body of Christ.
• 11:15am - Class lessons and activities continue.
• 12:15pm - Parents return for a "practice run-through" for Sunday and a blessing of the students.
• 1:00pm - Dismissal.
